# Hisorty > Hisorty ("sorting history") is a free browser game where you place historic events on a timeline in the right chronological order, one card at a time. It has a daily history puzzle, solo games, party games for up to 8 players on their own phones, and decks anyone can make, including fantasy worlds. It is free, needs no account or install, and can be embedded in a school website or learning platform. Website: https://hisorty.nl Hisorty is built to close knowledge gaps and put events in perspective: the Classic deck mixes events from Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe, so a player who knows European history meets Chinese, Malian or Inca history on the same timeline, and sees what happened elsewhere at the same time. ## Who it is for - History fans who like a daily brain teaser (like Wordle, but for chronology). - Teachers and schools: a free classroom activity for world history and chronology, played on phones or a projector, with no student accounts. - Students revising a period: filter by era, region or category, or play a deck their teacher made. - Fantasy and fiction fans: decks can have their own calendars and eras, for example a Middle-earth timeline or the events of a novel. - Friends and families: party mode with an invite link, like a board game night. ## How it plays - Draw an event card (title and short description). Place it on your timeline where you think it belongs, then pick the year. A card counts when it lands in the right order; hitting the exact year is celebrated, and earns a point in party mode. - Solo: reach your goal number of cards before you run out of lives (1 to 10), with an optional timer. - Daily puzzle: 4 to 8 events from one period, region or theme. Same puzzle for everyone, new every day, with an archive of earlier days and a shareable result. - Party: up to 8 players, turn based. Everyone guesses on the active player's timeline, and players who disagree with the placement can call "Well actually..." to challenge it. Ends with a podium and personal stats. - Achievements, sound, light and dark mode; works on phones, tablets and computers, and installs as an app. ## Content - Classic deck: 1,150 events from the Bronze Age to today, in six categories (wars and empires, technology and discovery, art, politics, natural disasters, religion). Every card has a source link that backs up its year; religion cards use historical, not theological, sources. - Filters: world eras (Bronze Age to Contemporary) and named periods such as the Pharaohs of Egypt, Warring States and Han China, the Islamic Golden Age, the Mongol Empire, the Mali and Songhai empires, the Aztec and Inca empires and Edo Japan. - Community: players and teachers can share decks and short puzzles (with a language label) through a free account. ## Pages - [Play Hisorty](https://hisorty.nl/): the game (home screen with the daily puzzle, solo and party). - [Today's daily puzzle](https://hisorty.nl/daily): earlier puzzles live at https://hisorty.nl/daily/YYYY-MM-DD. - [About Hisorty](https://hisorty.nl/about/): what the game is, how it plays, frequently asked questions. - [For educators](https://hisorty.nl/educators/): classroom use, making a deck for a lesson, and embedding the game. - [Community decks](https://hisorty.nl/explore) and [community puzzles](https://hisorty.nl/puzzles). - [Privacy policy](https://hisorty.nl/privacy/). ## Embedding Hisorty can be placed on any website or learning platform with an iframe: Use https://hisorty.nl/daily?embed to open straight on the daily puzzle.
